Help

Frequently asked questions

Everything people usually ask before sending us the photo that matters most.

Getting started

Do I have to mail my original photo?

No. A clear photo taken with your phone is enough for almost every restoration. Your original stays with you.

What file types can I upload?

JPEG, PNG, HEIC and TIFF all work. Send the largest, sharpest version you have.

Can you work from a photo still in its frame?

We can, but glass causes reflections. If you can safely take it out of the frame, the result will be better.

The restoration

Is a real person involved?

Yes. Technology may assist the restoration process, but a real restoration specialist is responsible for the final result. Every restoration is individually reviewed, refined and approved before delivery.

How damaged can a photo be?

Very. Tears, water damage, mould, fading, creases and missing corners are routine. If a photo truly cannot be saved, we will tell you honestly and you will not pay.

Can you add color to a black-and-white photo?

Yes — colorization is an optional +$19 per photo and you can add it to any artist tier.

Which artist level should I choose?

Experienced ($38) handles most fading and light damage. Head artist ($58) suits heavier damage and important portraits. Senior artist ($148) is for severe damage or irreplaceable photos.

Timing, changes and delivery

How long does it take?

Standard restorations are delivered in five business days. Priority is three business days (+$10) and Rush is 24 hours (+$20).

What if I want changes?

Tell us and we will revise it. Revisions are free, and nothing is final until you approve it.

How do I get my file?

By email, plus a private order link where you can download it any time. The file is yours to keep — no subscription, no expiring link.

Can I get prints?

Yes. After your restoration is approved you can add museum-quality prints, ready to frame.

Pricing and privacy

Does damage change the price?

Never. You pay the artist level you chose, plus any options you selected.

What happens to my photos?

They are stored privately and are never shared, sold, or used publicly without your permission.

Still have a question?

Start an order and add your question in the notes — an artist will read it before touching your photo.
